WP 2: Generalisability of genes and biomarkers to various European populations: geographic diversity and environmental risk factors

Objectives:

  1. Investigate the generalisability of the genotyped gene variants across Europe. Investigate the generalisability of the candidate gene variants across the world using Asian cohorts.
  2. Genotyping of osteoarthritis candidate (gene) variants of the different OA populations across Europe.
  3. Assess generalisability of current candidate (gene) variants and discovered variants from WP1 to other qualitative (replacements, meniscal tears, ROA, joint location) and quantitative (COMP, UCTX-II) OA phenotypes.
